About Me

I  currently live in Los Angeles, California pursuing my fashion industry career and looking for a position that is both creative and strategic. I like to be involved in the beginning of the product development process to the end from the textiles, design, sales strategy,  marketing to the end of evaluating performance stats, and customer reviews. All product stages are important to grow a successful collection and brand, so my beginning to end mind set gives a new perspective of products, design, sales, and marketing with my ultimate goal of creative director strategies.

I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri with a loving large family. My love for fashion began at a young age on my grandparent's farm, where I would knit, sew, and listen to my Grandma's stories of making her own garments out of feed sacks for her 8 children during the Great Depression along with working in garment factories. Since then, I had sketched, made my own clothes, and always cared about what I wore.

I continued to pursue my dreams in college at the University of Missouri in Textile and Apparel management, where I learned both the design and business side of Apparel with an emphasis in Product Development and Design, as well as minored in Business Administration. I graduated in 2018 and am very hard working, committed, motivated fashion enthusiast who strives for perfection, but when speed bumps occur, I thrive on problem solving and learning ways to improve. Thus, making me strong, knowledgeable, relentless professional in the fashion world.

I am currently a Head Designer & Head Merchandiser at Just Black Denim (Just Panmaco Inc.). In addition to those roles, I fully plan apparel trade show events from booth design, set up, sample selection, organization, travel plans, bookings, customer reach out, tradeshow sales management, and more for shows like Magic, Fame, Atlanta, and Dallas for the company's 3 denim brands. I use trend forecasting and market shopping research to keep the brands on trend, but also on track to continue to target our customer's needs. I manage the spend and sales reports for trade shows in efforts to ensure our growth is efficient. Daily contacting customers for reorders, follow up on trade show orders, retrieve declines, book appointments, create product line sheets specialized to the customer; heavy use of Faire, NuOrder, Fashion Go, & Boutique Hub. I create and present trend and trade show report analyzing the market competitors, current standing, areas to improve, areas accomplished, goals, and numerous design requests for the season that is highest trends for the season.
I manage the  design and sample team to ensure we are on track with trend, customer, and sales by requesting designs, evaluating samples, choosing an assortment of samples in accordance to fabric, fit, silhouette, wash, color, and overall style to fit with our customer basis and trends. I assist in marketing by planning photo shoots, styling, editing photos with photo shop, creating flyers in illustrator, creating content for feed, etc. I am the in-house Instagram model for Just Black Denim and JBD. I am featured with professional photoshop  photographs, videos, and how to styling videos.

I started at this company as an Assistant Denim Designer for their Domestic Premium Denim brand, Just Black Denim, where I held several positions as acting Assistant Designer, Associate Designer, and In House Fit model. I designed the Spring and Fall 2019 line with the Head Designer, conducted trend research and presented to design and sales team, handled new & production fabric testing, sourced trims, created and controlled line sheets, made tech packs, assisted and attended sales at client meetings and trade shows like Fame, Magic, Atlanta, and Dallas, assisted in Pre-Production & Top of Production, engaged in weekly fittings, was the in house fit model, trained assistant designers, and helped manage Stitch Fix account on the design team.

In my free time, I am a Free Lance Graphic Designer for music artists and companies, where I create logos, album and song covers, and flyers and advertisements for events.

I have also worked in retail for several years for both an international retailer and a boutique. With these jobs I have experience the design and sales responsibilities as a stylist, salesman, window display coordinator, trainer, and a marketing/fit model. These positions helped expand my knowledge further into the merchandising side of fashion.

My main interest focus is in the creative positions within the fashion industry like; Design, Merchandising, & Branding, but I am open to exploring new opportunities as well. I find great pleasure in being involved in the full apparel process, beginning to end from design to consumer to sales performance.
